“It may be asked, ‘Why should we pray?’ Well, why breathe?” — Venerable Fulton Sheen

All are invited to a special opportunity for prayer and community inspired by the words and intercession of Venerable Fulton J. Sheen as we approach his beatification next month.

The Fulton Sheen Initiative invites the people of God on Long Island to sign up for daily reflections based on the words of Venerable Fulton J. Sheen, culminating in a diocesan gathering to celebrate his beatification on September 24, 2026, at the Church of Saint Raphael in East Meadow. The evening will include a Holy Hour with Msgr. Tom Coogan, Pastor of the Church of Saint Mary in Manhasset, NY.
